U.S. Chart Roundup: Lady Gaga Redeems Herself After "Judas" With "The Edge Of Glory"

It's a second week for Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, and an eighth week at #1 for her sophomore album 21 on the Top 200 chart. Not only is 21 the only album to cross the million mark as far as copies of an LP sold this year, it's also getting closer to 2 million (right now it stands at 1.7 million since its late February release).

Elsewhere, Lady Gaga's "Judas" looks to be officially dead in the water. The song drops from #19 to #27 on this week's chart, while previous single  "Born This Way" slides still hangs in the Top 20 at #19. Of course, the good news is that "The Edge Of Glory" debuts at #3 and becomes her eighth single to crack the Top 5. Only "Paparazzi" (#6) and "Judas" (#10) charted lower.

And let's face it — while I liked "Judas" at first, it's kind of a dud when compared to some of the hotter tracks from Born This Way (like "Marry The Night" and "Electric Chapel"). That broad needs to step away from the bong and start making better single choices.

Enrique Iglesias' new single "Dirty Dancer" debuts one notch above "Born This Way," at #18 (credit his performance on last week's American Idol results show).

Meanwhile, the True Talent From Destiny's Child Kelly Rowland cracks the Top 30 with her Lil Wayne-assisted single "Motivation." It's at #26, while Beyonce's "Run The World (Girls)" continues its disastrous plummet, this week from #65 to #76.

Jordin Sparks also performed on Idol last week, and her new single "I Am Woman" debuts at #82. Enjoy it, darlin', because it's pretty much off to the stripper pole in Victorville once you're dropped from the label by Christmas.

The U.S. Top 10:

1. "Rolling In The Deep" - Adele *2 weeks*
2. "E.T." - Katy Perry feat. Kanye West
3. "The Edge Of Glory" - Lady Gaga *new*

6. "On The Floor" - Jennifer Lopez feat. Pitbull
7. "The Lazy Song" - Bruno Mars
8. "Till The World Ends" - Britney Spears

UK Chart Roundup: I'll Be Back Soon

Just a quick note to apologize for having been a bit absent this past week. There's a personal issue I've  deal with, and so blogging hasn't been at the top of the priority list. That said, I still have no idea what happened to Thursday's U.S. chart post. It was there, there were even comments on it and then it was gone. Oh well. Things will return to normal here on Tuesday.

But really quickly, not the most exciting Top 10 ever, is it? Congrats to Lady Gaga, at least, for landing "The Edge Of Glory" at #6 in the UK, since "Judas" kind of tanked at #9 and dropped quickly. It will be interesting to see if this week's promo single "Hair" does as well...or sounds as good.

And while I'm a little disappointed Take That's "Love Love" only managed a #15 debut, it's still miles ahead of their previous singles "Happy Now" and "Kidz," which charted at #52 and #28, respectively.

Over on the album chart it's a 15th non-consecutive week for Adele's 21 at the top.

Okay, back as normal tomorrow. Promise!

The UK Top 10:

1. "The Lazy Song" - Bruno Mars *1 week*
2. "Party Rock Anthem" - LMFAO
3. "Where Dem Girls At" - David Guetta feat. Nicki Minaj & Flo Rida

5. "Beautiful People" - Chris Brown feat. Benny Benassi
6. "The Edge Of Glory" - Lady Gaga *new*
7. "On The Floor" - Jennifer Lopez feat. Pitbull
8. "Sweat" - Snoop Dogg
9. "I Need A Dollar" - Aloe Blacc
10. "Nobody's Perfect" - Jessie J
